I keep trying to thrive
from the things
I keep having to survive from.

And maybe that is why
some days
my growth feels heavy.

Because I am not just blooming.
I am rebuilding.

I am learning how to become soft again
after life kept asking me
to be strong.

I am learning that survival
is not the same as peace.

And I want more than making it through.
I want to feel free.
I want to feel full.
I want to feel like myself
without needing pain
to prove I am powerful.

So I keep trying.

Not perfectly.
Not loudly.
But honestly.

And maybe that is thriving too.
